Song for Usil
iNVOCATION TO The Etruscan Solar God
Gelid brume steals my spirit, I wandered vexed
Pallor skin, ironless blood, I have grown perplexed
Aimless through perdition, stalked by the wolf of Śuri
Wringing my hands to the sky to cull this poison in me
Your fingers reach towards me, a shadow cutting the sun
And clearer now, an effervescent touch, my skin is won
Then my eyes meet thine; You ignite and blaze hotter
No hellish inferno; no brimstone, abyss, nor pyre
‘Tis Usil’s crimson jeweled golden diadem
This life-giving star is our heaven’s only anadem
